Mario Trimarchi creates his designs to tell a story. His design for the Ossidiana mocha teapot is no different.

The coffeemaker was designed using similar principles to how our prehistoric ancestors created their perfect tools through chipping and engraving. The moka teapot is an experiment between design and sculpture. With the shape of the moka teapot, Trimarchi tries to achieve the most ergonomic solution, so that the teapot fits well in the hand while closing and opening at the same time. 

The design of the coffee maker allows the use of only one hand to grasp the handle and the thumb to open the lid. Cutouts have been designed to accommodate fingers to make unscrewing the bottom of the teapot easier.
