Coffees from Bolivia are not as common as coffees from Brazil or Colombia, but they do not lag behind in quality. Bolivia has ideal conditions for growing coffee, especially in the Yungas region, where there is good soil quality, high rainfall and sufficient altitude.
Coffee cultivation in Bolivia began in the late 18th and early 19th centuries in the Andean region of Yungas, but coffee production was low compared to other South American countries. Since the 1960s, the Caranavi region has been the country's main coffee-growing centre. Most of the coffee grown in Bolivia comes from small farms of up to 8 hectares, where farmers have time to devote more time to growing quality arabica. Currently, Bolivia is the 38th largest coffee exporter in the world and still has room to grow.
From the current cupping of our barista
Bolivian coffee is not quite as well known in flavor as other American coffees. That's why we've roasted it so that everyone can find their own take on it. The beginning is sweet to slightly fruity with a slight acidity after the taste of limes, the body more pronounced nougat and the after taste slightly earthy to peanuts.
I believe it will excite you as much as it did me.
