The Indians of the Amazon rainforest know that they can find everything they need in nature. They named the tree Chuchuhuasi after the ability of its bark to cure joint and back problems. Chuchuhuasi translates as "trembling back". The 30-metre tree (Maytenus laevis), which grows only in the tropical Amazon, has been the subject of numerous studies.
