Legesse Borsamo is a coffee grower and preacher from the Sidama region. Legesse moved from Sidama to the neighboring region of Nensebo West Arsi in the early 2000s to cultivate coffee and spread the teachings of his faith.
Legesse originally started with a 3-hectare farm, but he and his brother have recently expanded the size of the farm to more than 5 hectares.
Prior to 2020, Legesse sold the cherries he grew to local cherry coffee processing plants, just like most farmers in his region. After winning 5 coffees from the Nensebo region in the Cup of Excellence 2020 competition, Legesse and his brother took coffee processing into their own hands. By processing coffee on their own farm, they have added value to the coffee while increasing its quality.
Legesse worked closely with Lulo Coffee to sell and export coffee. The partnership has allowed him to navigate the market effectively and connect with coffee enthusiasts who appreciate the exceptional quality of his coffee beans.
In the future, Legesso plans to continuously improve the quality of the coffee it offers and improve efficiency by introducing new processes.
