Taste organic Ethiopian coffee full of sweet notes.
More information about the coffee in the description below. More
Coffee comes from western Ethiopia from the high hills reaching 2,000 metres in the Guji region. Most of the coffee trees are young and due to the high mountain conditions, they can ripen slowly, giving the coffee a more distinctive flavour. Farmers in this region grow coffee in lush forests on the hills and edges of villages under the shade of native trees.
Korate Coffee is under the umbrella of a small exporter, Buno Coffee Trading, which operates 7 washing stations in the Guji area. They are mostly small farmers with 8-15 hectares of land. The smaller size makes it easier to improve the cultivation processes and better supervise the high quality of the beans. Buno incentivizes farmers to harvest only fully ripe cherries with a higher financial reward per kilo of coffee cherries. In addition, in the off-harvest period, it provides them with credit to enable them to meet all expenses around the farm.
This coffee comes from 9 small farmers who own around 6 hectares of land.
