A Japanese rarity that loosely translates as "jewel of dew". About two weeks before harvest, the tea bushes are covered with bamboo mats. "The 'shaded tea' develops less tannin, has a significantly higher caffeine content and the leaves are dark green and slightly glossy. In Japan, Gyokuro is served mainly to honored guests. It has an elegant, delicate but strong flavour with a hint of sweetness.
