The Nova Coffee processing plant is located in northern Rwanda near Lake Muhazi, surrounded by native rainforest. It is spread over 155 hectares on which nearly 400,000 coffee trees grow. Thanks to the ideal conditions and the high altitude of up to 2 000 metres above sea level, the local coffees are of the highest quality.
The station is run mainly by women who have joined together with other farmers in the area to form the Cafe de Mamans association. Cafe de Mamans is committed to improving the status of women in the coffee world and helping them to achieve new opportunities.
The dry-processed coffee has a juicy, fruity body with berry flavours and hints of bergamot and black tea.
