Why cherries?

Cherries are particularly beneficial to our health and their beneficial effects are wide-ranging. In addition to the huge amount of water (80%) and carbohydrates, we can also find a variety of valuable substances in them. They are even said to contain all the essential nutrients, apart from vitamin B12, although of course some only in small amounts. They serve as a rich source of minerals and vitamins, magnesium, iodine, silicon, iron, zinc, phosphorus, calcium and potassium. They are also rich in vitamins A, B and especially vitamin C.

Cherries contain important dyes, which experts call anthocyanins. Like other plant dyes, anthocyanins are also antioxidants by nature and have the ability to protect blood vessels and the heart from damage. Together with vitamin C, they rebuild connective tissue and, among other things, help to destroy the so-called free radicals and harmful types of enzymes that cause skin and connective tissue to age.

Cherries also have a preventive and supportive function for a number of diseases such as gout, periodontitis, rheumatism, arthritis, diabetes and others. They cleanse the liver, kidneys and urinary tract. Thanks to regular consumption, they can neutralize uric acid and have anti-inflammatory effects. Expectant mothers will also appreciate the considerable presence of folic acid.
