Cuba Caracolillo coffee is known for its intense aroma, smooth texture and hints of dark chocolate. Grown in an ideal microclimate on the mountain plains of Cuba. Careful farming in state-owned cooperatives and cultivation under forest cover in rich soil guarantee true quality. The unique bean shape of the Caracolillo bean is harvested using traditional methods. The coffee is Humaniterra certified, indicating a commitment to ethical and sustainable production.
The shape of the coffee bean, called Caracolillo (Peaberry), appears at the ends of the branches of the bush or at the very high part of the tips. Due to their location, they do not reach the necessary capacity for their normal growth and therefore form a single connected bean. Caracolillo is a bean highly prized for being riper in flavour, more intense, more concentrated in taste and picking up more acidity to be a coffee that receives more light and water from rain. Even in the roasting process, the bean's shape is preferred because it achieves a more even roast during the roasting process. This bean is not very common and comes out with less than 10% probability, so more care must be taken when selecting and handling the bean. It is therefore more expensive, even if it comes from the same plant and region.
Cuba Caracolillo is very balanced with a pleasant aroma, it is characterized by spiciness and leaves a long lasting and rich aftertaste. It is a unique coffee that reflects the passion and energy of the Cuban people. Thanks to its special peaberry bean from the Guantánamo region, it offers a strong flavour, a distinctive aroma and a high caffeine content with a chocolatey, nutty and creamy finish.
