In 2015, Doña Martha Castilblanco took over the management of the farm. Finca Alejandrita is located in the high mountains in one of the most fertile coffee regions in Nicaragua, where suitable high mountain conditions, a special microclimate with large temperature differences between day and night and fertile volcanic soil meet. The mountainous area surrounding the farm is covered with dense pine forest where monkeys, birds and other native animals can roam freely. The pines and other trees provide desirable shade for the coffee trees.
Once the coffee cherries are ripe, they are hand-picked and sun-dried. The processing gives the coffee a great sweet and sour fruity flavour combination.
SHG - Strictly High Grown indicates that the coffee has been grown at high altitudes in excess of 1300 m above sea level. EP - European Preparation means that the coffee has been sorted and stripped of defective beans.
